Prepare the Import File

An import goes smoothly if the import file is prepared correctly. We recommend that you use the sample import file template, which is in the format (.csv) the application supports and contains the fields that can be updated.

  1. Click . Then, select the Member Contact Info option.

  2. Click this link in the area at the top of the page: View Sample Import File to download the sample template.

  3. Open the template.

As shown below, the sample template comes pre-filled with content that you can replace with your own contact data.

You can import data into these fields:

If any of these fields in the import file contains a NULL or blank value in a field, the respective field in the database record is not changed by the import.

You cannot import data into the Member DUID field. This field is used for matching records in the import file with existing database records. It is a required field in the import file and cannot contain a NULL value.

  1. Edit the fields in the template as desired.

  2. Save the template.

Contact Information Audit Report

The system logs changes made to member records as a result of imports conducted through the customer API or the Family Directory Import feature. You can run a Audit Contact Info report to view changes in the latest import and any previous imports. For instructions on generating this report, go to How to Create a Contact Information Audit Report.
