Current Known Scheduling Issues and Proposed Workarounds

This topic lists current known scheduling issues and suggests ways to bypass the problems.

Calendar Dropdown Filter Controls Occasionally Freeze

The calendar and dropdown filter controls on the Scheduling page occasionally freeze. We have noticed that performance often improves after working in the application for a while. If you have a problem with page loading after using one of the calendar filters, try these suggestions:

Change browsers: Freezing is an issue experienced more often in Internet Explorer 9 and 11. Therefore, if you are having a problem, try switching to Firefox as the controls appear to work better consistently in that browser.

Wait for the page to load: Try waiting for the page to completely load. While the page is loading, the application displays a loading icon, which disappears after the page is completely loaded.

Reload the page: Click  to reload the page.

Slower Scheduler Performance

While flexible and powerful, the scheduling engine has become more complicated over time as we have added new features and as the demands imposed by minister scheduling exceptions and preferences have increased. We want you to be aware that the demands are processor intensive; therefore, the scheduler may require more time to generate schedules. Another factor affecting scheduler speed and performance is user demand. At peak times, when many users simultaneously access the application to create schedules, you may experience slower performance.

If you have other applications open on your computer, try closing them. Other running applications may be using up memory that the scheduler requires to run faster.
